Gator Ratings is a website similar to rate my professors but specifically for the University of Florida (UF). Our goal is to provide an open forum for students to submit unbiased professor evaluations. We believe that researching instructors is an integral part of any student's course selection process and can ultimately determine the quality of your education. This site allows you to rate professors based on various measures in order to give you the entire picture before you register for a class.
Why is Gator Ratings better than rate my professors?
1. As a student at the University of Florida are you interested in the profs at the thousands of universities across the U.S? Didn't think so. Gator Ratings provides just UF professor ratings, allowing us to have more profs and courses for the University of Florida than any other review site.
2. Rate my professors posting guidelines tell you NOT to respond to other peoples posts. Here, we encourage just the opposite, afterall, What could be more beneficial than an open discussion? Every student comment on this site is followed by a reply icon (small green arrow) that allows you to post a response to that comment.
3. The Commment Cloud. If you are familiar with what a tag cloud is, then the concept of the Comment Cloud is very similar; By clicking on a small cloud icon at the top right of a professor's page you can see the top 50 words used to describe him/her. The more a word is used in the comments, the bigger it appears in the Comment Cloud. This feature allows students to quickly gauge the quality and/or attitude of a professor without having to read every individual rating. Clicking on any word in the Comment Cloud will show you all the prof's ratings that include that word.
4. Grade Distributions. Have you ever read a terrible review and wondered if the student who wrote it was simply ticked off because he/she failed? Every review on Gator Ratings includes the grade received by the student, so that you can quickly weed out the whiners. In fact, you can even choose to see only low ratings from students with an A or B, or high ratings from students with a C, D, or F (on the professor rating page, filter for 'credibility').
